  • Mp62 FFS kit Aquired

I've recently picked up a car I believe was owned my one of the old members here MX-Drew. Unfortunately the car was in a sorry state having been parked up in a field since 2016 and was too far gone to be saved. The car and expecially the engine bay had obviously been loved and built to a great quality originally.
Can anyone shed any light on the kit, specifically why it has 2 injectors after the supercharger rather than one extra in the throttle body.
My intention is to fit this to my Mk1 (running a vvt engine) and control it with a standalone me442 so any guidance would be amazing

Well, I can tell the story. Along time ago in a far away land called UK, A potential customer contacted me for a price for a kit with shipping. As luck would have it, it turned out he and his SO could fly here and back for less than shipping. So they did. They stayed withj us for two weeks, took the 99 10AE and toured Arizona odff and on. Then he went to Walmart and bought a couple large duffel bags, stuffed the kit in the bags and they flew back hoime with it as luggage.

Inm the beginning, we had a single injector pre-blower. Problem was thjat we didn't have a fitting for the fuel so we simply ran a hose from the top of the injector with a hose clamp. The hose rubbed on the bottom of the hood and more sooner than later wore a hole in the hose. Not a good thing. So we moved it to the front corner of the intake manifold. Great location except it imnterfered with the AC lines on some of the 01-05 engines. Se we moved it to the side of the intake manifold. Testing showed that to get good fuel distribution from there, we need two different size injectors. Then we developed the injector fitting (thanks to GM). When we did that, we found we could move the single injector back to pre-blower and not have the hose rub the hood, so we did.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks Tom that's really helpful. Really impressed by the quality of the kit. Just need to get the 750 and 350 injectors cleaned (unless you have a link to new ones available in the UK) and then get it fitted to my Mk1.
It wasn't making any boost when I ran the car around the estate for a few minutes so will also be checking the seals etc... Not sure if the bypass valves stick or if there's anything I should look out for particularly or things that are likely to need checking/replacing?
Once again, thanks... I'll be sure to post updates along the way

If not making boost, I suspect the bypass valve not closing. It should close with engine off. Vacuum opens it. Boost or lack of vacuum closes it again. Those injectors are not available in the UK. We special make them.

One other possibility, look through the TB at the rotors and see if they turn when the pulley is turned. There is a coupler in the gear box made out of hard rubber. With miles and age, it can break. It looks like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XTQX68X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . $15 and a bottle of fresh oil https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and a tube of special gasket material https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000DD2YP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and you are back in business. You can do this while the blowere is still mounted on the car.

Brilliant thanks, still haven't had chance to strip and check the kit. But have used a small camera to check the rotors and they look perfect and I can also hear compression being created when turning by hand so fingers crossed 🤞
Out of interest if the bypass has gone is it a generic one I can buy or specific to fast forward?.... I can't see one for sale on the website so I'm assuming generic

Contact these people https://superchargersonline.com/ and they can supply. Might need to send them a picture? I think it is a VA-783A part number. I normally talk to David and he is super helpful. Their number is 818-518-9889 and they do all of the repairs for Magnuson.
