  • AFR gauge

    Hey,

I ordered the TVS900 kit and hoping it comes in soon. I also know little to nothing about afr gauges but plan on installing one. Probably using Tom's rec for it, the AEM.

A couple things. I ran across an Innovate LC2 gauge. Does this do the same thing? Is it worth looking at? https://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lc2.php

Also does another bung need to be welded on for it? I ordered a new CARB midpipe from Moss a couple days ago. And they cancelled and can't get it now. sigh.

    Thanks,

    Riley

    Aloha Riley,
I clicked the link you provided and it showed a sensor and a series of wires, but no gauge. I’m guessing that it works with a special computer.
I have the AEM digital gauge….it’s fine. You will need to weld a special O2 bung to the header before the catalytic converter though.
The AFR gauge is going to drive you crazy to watch, but it’s a good tool to dial in your fueling…….though I’m tempted to cover mine up during my commute as it fluctuates so much it’ll drive you nuts. Apparently when you are not into boost, the factory computer is dialing in the mixture from lean to rich, lean to rich….over and over…and over…
    Get a Boost gauge too.
    Hope this helps.
    Skiddy.

      Aloha Skiddy, aka Harvey?!

Just saw your reply. Thanks. After reading some more and a bit of the discussion on miata.net--not sure you were involved in the gauge thread but I've been following your questions--anyway I'm going with the AEM too. This kit probably, https://www.jegs.com/i/AEM/017/30-4110/10002/-1 I'm emailing Tom to get a reality check shortly.

Boost gauge--I've been concentrating the afr but makes sense to get a boost gauge now. I'm also considering an oil temp gauge. Do you have any rec for a gauge panel? I'm looking at Track Dog for higher end angled one. A plan flat panel from Thompson Automotive was mentioned in the gauge thread.

<edit: this combo gauge was recommended, https://bankspower.com/collections/i...igital-monitor >

Just got my rebuilt engine installed last week. Pretty jazzed with it now without the sc, which I hope to see in a week or so.

      Best...I mean Mahalo!
